Finally made it into the 12's with the help of mother nature. 35F, wind was calm and pressure was 30.50. First two runs were done with front passenger seat removed along with the spare/jack. Third run done with full interior. Mods are JoeZ intake, Tanabe exhaust, custom midpipe, R compound tires, Eibach springs.
IS350 in the SS class that managed to qualify and get first over many close competitors. Thumbs up to all you other SS class guys. It was a long rough day.
Was a good day with nothing better to do than hang out at the track and get some practice in for the upcoming cooler weather. My fiance came along and was kind enough to take a few videos. Hope you enjoy.
06 IS350
JoeZ intake
Tanabe Exhaust
BFG Drag radials (these don't help btw)
Density Altitude was 231ft for the day and I had a 5-10mph head wind.
Was not too impressed with this intake. It took me about 5 runs on the dyno and several extra fans just to hit stock baseline numbers and the intake was just a tad too loud for my tastes. A heat shield around the intake would be beneficial, but realistically the stock intake system is a better design.
I got a better ET and trap speed than the M3 6spd. The M3 ran a 13.7@103.07 and I ran a 13.52@104.39. I was kinda bummed that he won even though I beat him in ET and mph, but since he left the starting line 2/10's sooner and crossed sooner he took the technical win. Both of these cars are very similar in speed. Handling is another story...Win would def go to the M3.
