June 16, 1997 - Late Show with David Letterman
A short interview with George, with an idea about a personal ad that nobody would want to respond to; George briefly discusses the passing of his wife, Brenda.
July 20, 1965 - Merv Griffin Show
George's 1st appearance on the Merv Griffin show, doing a bit about commercials, somewhat different than the routine that appeared on his "Take Offs & Put Ons" album.
November 9, 1976 - Tony Orlando & Dawn Rainbow Hour
"Time For George"
George was a regular performer on the "Tony Orlando & Dawn Rainbow Hour" show in late 1976. The gig was right up his alley, because he could be himself and work out his routines instead of acting in some bad comedy sketches.
December 10, 1966 - The Hollywood Palace
Another early television appearance by George on the Hollywood Palace. Here he is performing his popular "Wonderful Wino" bit
12/10/66
May 2, 1972 The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson
Interview and performance. George reads some fan mail, and talks about his "hair piece" - Another of MANY Carson appearances over the years.
Original Airdate: Feb 17, 1977
"Radio Free Freddie"
George plays DJ Wally 'The Wow' Wechsel
I have cut the title sequence & credits to keep this as 2 parts.
February 2, 1973 - The Midnight Special
Now that he was a familiar face from both the Flip Wilson Show, and his regular appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, George was the guy to have on your show! This is the 1st of his regular appearances on the Midnight Special.
October 26, 1976 - Tony Orlando & Dawn Rainbow Hour
"Time For George"
George was a regular performer on the "Tony Orlando & Dawn Rainbow Hour" show in late 1976. The gig was right up his alley, because he could be himself and work out his routines instead of acting in some bad comedy sketches.
April 27, 2001 Tonight Show With Jay Leno
I'm pretty sure this is George's 1st appearance on Leno's show.
1st part is the performance, 2nd part the interview
September 21, 1976 - Tony Orlando & Dawn Rainbow Hour
"Time For George"

May 15, 1971 - The Mike Douglas Show
Live (at the time) at San Diego California U.S. International University. George does familiar routines, "Muhammed Ali" is included on this among others. Then a very optimistic George sits for an interview with Mike Douglas. Sound is a bit rough, but listenable - enjoy this rarity!
April 27, 2001 Tonight Show With Jay Leno
I'm pretty sure this is George's 1st appearance on Leno's show.
1st part is the performance, 2nd part the interview
May 2, 1975 The Mike Douglas Show
George working on his "God" bit from the Toledo Window Box album. Four months before hosting the very 1st Saturday Night Live. He sounds kind of stuffy, whether he was sick or it was his cocaine habit i don't know. Interesting to see him using his notes. When I saw him last October he was working out new material and had his notes.
1st week of February 1999 - The Roseanne Show
A short-lived talk show hosted by Roseanne Barr. This is a pretty good interview in support of his Brain Droppings book. 1 of 2
February 25, 1967 - The Hollywood PalaceThis is a clip of George before he found himself, before he developed the routines that we'd all come to know. This is the Carlin that put on a face for the public, before letting his hair out, and growing the beard. The material was pretty tame by today's standards, but is still good stuff.
This routine reminds me a lot of his "Indian Sargeant" bit.
