Glauber salt solution (Na2SO4) is electrolyzed between two pins pushed into the head of a plastic pipette fixed between two wells of a wellplate6. The stem of the pipette transfers the product into soap soltion. After a few minutes the oxyhydogen gas can be ignited.

I was asked by Niranjan and Jen in AP Chem to help film their Pipette Rocket. Using a Tesla Coil to spark the trapped gas, the rocket achieves liftoff. Shot at 600 and 1200 fps with the Casio EX-F1.
